On August 23, 2025, Old Main Street in Saint Albans, West Virginia, will be transformed into a sea of gold and blue as Mountaineer fans gather for the highly anticipated Mix’s Mountaineer Mainstreet Tailgate Party. One week before the WVU Mountaineers face off against Robert Morris in their season opener, the event kicks off a season of excitement and camaraderie. Mix’s Mountaineer Mainstreet has quickly become a beloved tradition. The streets of Saint Albans will be buzzing with energy as fans of all ages come together to show their support for the WVU football team. The tailgate atmosphere will be electric, with the delicious smells of grilling food wafting through the air, fans wearing their best WVU gear, and a strong sense of excitement building for the upcoming season.As part of the celebration, attendees will be treated to live performances from some of West Virginia’s most beloved performers. The WVU Marching Band, known as The Pride of West Virginia, will fill the street with their signature sound. The WVU Cheerleaders , Dance Team and Mountaineer Mascot add to the excitement, leading cheers and getting the crowd hyped for the football season ahead. There will also be a concert performance by national artists Dauzat St. Marie and local band Ultrasound, as they rock the crowd with classic tunes, encouraging fans to dance and sing along. Former WVU athletes, Major Harris, Avon Cobourne, Kevin Pittsnogle, Brian Jozwiak, John Pennington, John Flowers, Truck Bryant, and Nate Adrian will be on hand to sign autographs, take photos with fans, and reminisce about their time playing for WVU. There will be a silent auction with proceeds benefitting WVU Children’s Hospital and a raffle with proceeds benefitting Alzheimer’s Association/Dementia Friendly Saint Albans. And, we will also have or first ever Barney’s Bakery pepperoni roll eating contest.
